Susan Estrich is not impressed (hat tip: Instapundit) by the L.A. Times’s last-minute hatchet job. She notes that contrary to popular opinion, none of the incidents alleged constitute crimes. She also predicts that this story will have little impact on the elcetion, particularly since it comes so late in the game, from a newspaper that “has been acting more like a cheerleader for Gray Davis than an objective source of information.” The final sentence sums things up pretty nicely.
To his credit, Schwarzenegger apologized for “behaving badly.” So should the Los Angeles Times.
