Day 3

Filed under:   by Xrlq @ 7:28 am

Day 3 begins tonight! Don’t miss it.

UPDATE: D’Oh! I did miss it! Unfortunately, my handy-dandy Dish DVR turned out not to be so handy or dandy after all. Last week, when I set up tonight’s event, the show was scheduled for 10:00 p.m. rather than 9:00, so I ended up recording the evening news instead. That’ll teach me to diss TiVo…

    Can’t hardly wait…

  2. irishlass Says:

my bad.. I meant to say “Can hardly wait” . Will you be giving a first hour review after the show?

  3. Xrlq Says:

I might. It depends on the content of the show and whether or not I’m up for blogging after it’s run.

  4. Patterico Says:

Day 3 of what? And how did I miss Days 1 and 2?

  5. Xrlq Says:

Why, Day 3 of 24, of course! Don’t feel too bad about missing Days 1 and 2. Day 1 got hyped to the hilt, but somehow I managed to remain oblivious to its existence all year, and it wasn’t until watching 2 or 3 hours of Day 2 that I realized there had been a Day 1 before it.

  6. Ith Says:

    I’m there!

(along with a supply of socks to throw at the screen whenever Kim shows up!)

  7. ESP Says:

Hopefully she will not be a professional victim this year. . . uh day.

  8. Justene Says:

    SPOILER

    Kim is a CTU agent.

  9. Kevin Murphy Says:

Kim has had a brain transplant off-season. No doubt whe will now get into sophisticated trouble all day.

  10. Venomous Kate Says:

I was so glad to stumble across Day 3 last night. Been watching so little TV that I hadn’t even seen the previews. Of course, I missed the first 20 minutes but it wasn’t that hard to catch up.

Except for Kim… Um, I think Kevin’s brain transplant comment must be right. How else would a chick who couldn’t follow the simple instruction “Don’t let anyone know where you are” in season #1 go to programming main frames in season #3?

  11. Ith Says:

Maybe the transplant came with her haircut and colour this season.

  12. Xrlq Says:

My first thought is that the proverbial “brain transplant” is a terrible plot hole. My second is, who cares? I’ll take the credibility issue in exchange for a third season with all of last year’s eye candy and none of the accompanying stupidity.

  13. Venomous Kate Says:

I never did see the end of last season, although I can’t remember what came up. With consecutive-story shows like 24 (and Murder One before it), I just can’t get back into it if I miss an episode.

Anyhow, I like Kim far, far better than Jack’s girlfriend, Kate. (Pisses me off to no end that we share a name.) Talk about a ‘perma victim’ - that woman has a whipped puppy look on her face that just makes me want to kick her each time I see her.

  14. Justene Says:

When did you check out? I remember Kate being the only one Jack could trust to go save Kim. But my preseason spoilers say we move forward several years and the Kate relationship has bloomed and fizzled. I wanted to watch them save the Prez too. Sigh.

No I haven’t seen hour 1 yet so maybe I’ll be pleased anyway. I’m just glad they killed off the wife in season 1.

  15. Xrlq Says:

Kate: you probably didn’t miss anything that will affect your ability to follow Day 3. Day 2 left us knowing that Lynne Kresge, Jack Bauer and David Palmer were all either dead, or they were alive. Judging by her absence from this week’s episode, Lynne is probably dead. Judging by their presence in last week’s episode, Jack and the Prez are probably alive. And Non-Venomous Kate appears to have simply buggered off.

  16. Justene Says:

I FINALLY saw hour 1 today. It’s possible that Kate was there just to tie up the plot line or to give Jack a reason to object to Kim’s relationship (that looks sooooo boring) but it’s possible that she steps in later to help him with his, uh, personal problem.

And I have a survey question (yeah, bury it deep in the comments, I know): I figured out David Palmer and the doctorfrom the first handshake. THought it was obvious. Calblog husband did not think it obvious at all. What do other people think?
