Gender Weenie
The Gender Genie is making the rounds again. A few months ago, it was wrong more often than not. Now it’s right about 71% of the time, a significant improvement, but still a bit shy of the 80% accuracy rating the model is supposed to predict.
I’m going to try my hand at a Gender Genie of my own, which I’ll dub the”Gender Weenie” to avoid confusion with that other one. the Gender Weenie eats up far fewer ones and zeros, and also requires much less effort on the examinee. To try it out, just open this message, and leave a comment to let me know if the Weenie was right. After a week or so, maybe the Genie and the Weenie can compare notes over lunch (assuming gender genies eat lunch), which they probably don’t.
