Blogiversary
Today marks the first anniversary of my blog. At the time, the blog was simply called Xrlq, which doesn’t make a hell of a lot of sense. “Xrlqspot,” maybe, but simply Xrlq? I don’t think so. No big deal, it was hosted on Blogspot at the time, so hardly anyone read it anyway.
Anyway, a big thanks to all readers and fellow bloggers who have helped to make damnum absque injuria a Large Mammal. Special thanks to Justene, who has probably linked to me more times than all other bloggers combined. Her blogiversary is coming up soon, as well.
On a separate note, I will be vacationing in Hawaii from December 20 to December 27, and would welcome submissions from would-be guest bloggers. Bloggers are welcome, as are non-bloggers who would like to try their hands at blogging. If you are interested in giving it a shot, leave a comment here or send me email at guestbloggers@xrlq.com. Then again, you could send your request to whateverthehellyoufeelikecallingme@xrlq.com, as I’d still get it. But before you get too creative with the first line, know that (1) any submissions to the domain XLRQ.COM will go to the wrong person, and (2) while submissions to addresses like asswipe@xrlq.com or fucktard@xrlq.com will still go through, they are significantly less likely to get you the gig than are submissions to something more complimentary, like greatguy@xrlq.com or godsgifttobloggers@xrlq.com.

Congratulations (I guess) on your one year anniversary with the blog that I refer to as the other woman. I know, I know, I am the one who told you to get a hobby. OK, I won’t say anything about the TIME you spend on this thing, not on your special day. But as of tomorrow, will you walk the dogs, do the dishes, pick up the laundry, and take me dancing? Congratulations! How time flies. I’m not sure when my blogiversary is. I’ll have to check.
However, regarding guestblogging, I STRONGLY suggest that nonbloggers like, ahem, Joel B., volunteer to guestblog.
It’s very hard to guestblog when you have your own blog. It’s worth it if you can link to and drive traffic to your blog. But guestblogging is best suited for someone who has thought about blogging and wants to try it for a week before committing.
