I'd be happy to have him tried in Iraq. Anything but the Hague.

I'm dying to know how the Democratic presidential contenders feel about the issue.

Lieberman: I told you so.
Kerry: I wouldn't have voted to authorize the war in Iraq if I knew Bush would fuck it up so bad...oh fuck. I meant to say, I did vote to authorize the war because I knew he wouldn't fuck it up. And you can edit out those "fucks," right?
Dean: God. Damn. It.
Kucinich: Hi. Are you my friend?

Here are a few early reactions from Dean supporters (link: www.deanesmay.com/archives/005729.html#005729)

My favorite (for the life of me, I can't tell if this is a parody or not):

"Frankly, I'm crying as well. This was an unjustified war -- if anything, we should be apologizing to Saddam and giving him his $700,000 back... I thought we were supposed to be Democrats!"

WTF do we need to try the guy for?

I can have a plastic shredder from the local industrial supply yard in 20 minutes.

Good question. Somehow, though, I don't think that's what the Dean of Mean meant when he said it didn't matter where he was tried.

Isn't it possible for the Iraqis to try him with us offering . . . um, "helpful suggestions"? To be honest, this seems fairest: I don't think anyone other than the U.S., ,the Brits and the Iraqis is really involved in this situation. We're the country that suffered an assassination attempt, and paid the highest price for the liberation of their country. And they (the Iraqis) suffered the most.

Absolutely no U.N. control. No Hague trial. No way.
