I know you're not a liberal, and that you don't generally delete comments simply because you disagree with them. That's why I was a bit surprised to see you delete the whole string of comments, as opposed to the hateful ones. But this part was the kicker:

People are fucking assholes, down to almost the very last one of you.

As one of several commenters who left a dissenting, non-hateful, non-vicious comment, I think that's painting with a pretty broad brush.

Speaking of people painting with a broad brush, I agree that calling you a "liberal" is silly.

NJRob,

In Michele’s [A Small Victory] defense, she may be “liberal” on the issue of gay marriage, but on the issue of foreign policy (War on Terror, et al)--for instance--she is most definitely not of a liberal persuasion.

First of all, where did anyone ever get the idea that I am a liberal? Or are you just assuming that from one single sentence?

Second, the comments were turned off not because of people who didn't agree with me. It was because there were people who didn't agree with me and were making hateful, hurtful comments towards others, and engaging in some rather vicious attacks.

If you think I turn off my comments when people don't agree with me then you've never read my blog.

Gay marriage as but a piece of the larger pie of the gay rights movement. Canada is a model which will--by steps--be replicated in America. As laid bare by the following portion of a WorldNetDaily article, gay marriage is only part of a larger agenda. …

Canada's House of Commons passed a controversial bill yesterday opposed by religious believers and free-speech advocates who say it will criminalize public expression against homosexual behavior.

The bill, passed 141-110, adds sexual orientation as a protected category in Canada's genocide and hate-crimes legislation, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.

"It's been a good week for equality in Canada," said the bill's sponsor, Svend Robinson, an openly homosexual member of Parliament.

Too bad, the liberal didn't like the comments posted disputing her simple-minded point of view, so she removed them... what a shock.
