The Religion of Peace just claimed another victim. Apparently, this pattern of kidnapping and murdering innocents enjoys a good deal of popular support:
People living in the districts, which lie in western and southern Riyadh, suggested that the kidnappers enjoy popular support, partly because of U.S. policy in Iraq and its perceived backing for Israel.
“How can we inform on our brothers when we see all these pictures coming from Abu Ghraib and Rafah,” Muklas Nawaf, a resident of Dhahar al-Budaih, said as he ate meat grilled on a spit at a restaurant called Jihad, Arabic for “holy war.”
Lovely.
UPDATE: Claire has an even more endearing quote from a Saudi who praises the murderers as “heroes” and proudly announces that all Saudis hate Americans. It’s a good thing I’m not the President because if I were, we’d be carpet bombing the area until the survivors begged for mercy and admitted out loud that their allahu isn’t so damned akbar after all.
UPDATE x2: Chris Lawrence has an interesting solution: let the Saudis execute every prisoner whose release these thugs demanded.
