All right, who was the idiot who thought it would be a good idea to host the 2004 Olympics in Greece?
If this story is true, I suggest that from 2008 on, only civilized countries should be allowed to host the games. Is that too much to ask?

I agree with aphrael (who stole my thunder). Bans on uncivilized nations hosting the Olympics will have to wait until after the 2008 Beijing Games.

I know. IIRC, it’s also the paper that defended Peter Arnett when he was fired for telling “the truth.” That’s why I qualified things with “if this story is true…” rather than simply assuming that it was.
