It was easy to remember because it filled a lexical gap. For years I’d struggled to find a pithy way of explaining the paradox of how one ass can be both smart and dumb at the same time. “Dumb aleck” fit the bill perfectly.

I agree that Fox won’t spin things much. When I say MSM I mean most of it, not all. The Washington Post is usually pretty sober, too, except when some dumb aleck like Dana Milbank gets assigned to a story.

And no, I’m not going to hazard a guess as to what will happen in Iraq, Iran, or any other part of the world, regardless of who is in the Oval Office for the next four years.

It makes sense that he looks Jewish, as both of his paternal grandparents originally were Jewish. He never talked about that in the good old days when he was busy playing Irish, but did play up the Jewish bit somewhat after the Boston Globe finally founds its butt with both hands and reported his non-Irish ancestry. The story behind the “Irish” link elaborates on that.

Fox is now pretty mainstream and I don’t expect that they will spin this Kerry’s way.

Will you stick your neck out and tell us how soon we will be able to get out of Iraq? Will we be at war with Iran within the next five years?

Kerry doesn’t look French to me. He looks Jewish.
