Good point. Come to think of it, he probably doesn't have any rights at all, except to receive a paycheck that's even bigger and fatter than he is. Forget downloading - just borrow the movie or rent it mid-week, when you won't cause Blockbuster to run out of copies and order more. That's what I did. Or rent it for free from any of the sucker video stores that offer it.

Even if bonehead says you can download it, is he the only guy making money from ticket sales? Does he have the exclusive right to authorize downloads?

I've never used it before. Having already seen the movie (I rented it midweek to avoid impacting weekend inventory), I probably won't, either. My guess is that if it functions like Kazaa or Limewire, you should be able to control what gets shared, and in any event, you can always uninstall the sharing software once you've grabbed this movie. Then run Ad-Aware just in case it "accidentally" left any spyware behind.

I'm interested, but I'm rather concerned about BitTorrent. My rudimentary understanding is that it sucks files off your hard drive and shares them automatically at the same time you download stuff from them. I'm concerned that I don't appear to have any control over what gets shared.

Know anything about this?
