Blogging and the MSM

Filed under:   by Xrlq @ 8:48 am

Congratulations to Patterico for being cited by Bill Handel as the blog to go to for information on how crappy and biased the L.A. Times is. Unfortunately, he butchered his name, pronouncing it puh-TERR-ick-o rather than the preferred PAT-ter-EEK-oh. At least he got Patterico’s name wrong in a way that won’t prevent listeners from finding his site, which is more than I can say for “powerline.blog.”

Hey, thanks for that. Just as I was looking at your post, my wife was telling me she had heard this from someone at work. Funny. I wish I had heard it.

What did “powerline.blog” do? I saw that the e-mail from Michael Ledeen misspelled the name, but that was his typo. They got the links right. What am I missing?

  2. Patterico's Pontifications Says:

    KFI Radio Host Mentions Patterico
Xrlq says that KFI’s Bill Handel mentioned this blog on the radio this morning, as a way to keep up with the bias of the L.A. Times. I missed it, as I have the day off and was sleeping in….

I don’t know who Michael Ledeen is, nor have I read his email. All I know is that Bill Handel listed “powerline dot blog” among the top political weblogs. Meaning, of course, that listeners will first attempt to visit at powerline.blog, which does not exist, and then at powerline.com, which does exist but has nothing to do with the Power Line we all know and all of us except Dan Rather love.

  4. Patterico Says:

Gotcha. I thought you were accusing Power Line of having screwed something up.

Explanation of Ledeen reference: Power Line just did a post printing a letter from Michael Ledeen (an NRO contributor and fairly influential neo-con) saying he was going to print out my Year-in-Review and walk it down the hall to Lynne Cheney. Ledeen misspelled “Patterico” in his e-mail to the Power Line guys, but as long as he refilled the paper tray in his printer before sending the print job, I couldn’t care less.
