Happy ReasonTMable Holidays, Virginia Postrel
Be sure stop by Virginia Postrel’s blog to wish her Season’s Greetings, an inclusive concept that should apply equally to all holidays occuring within the season of winter. Or wish her a Happy Holiday, which appears to be her preferred term. Whatever you do, though, don’t wish her a Happy Martin Luther King Day, as that might make her feel non-included since she isn’t black. Oh wait, I almost forgot; neither am I! All the more reason to wish everyone a generic holiday, lest anyone feel left out after figuring out what today’s holiday is for.
UPDATE: You just can’t win.

Happy Holiday!
Xrlq wishes everyone, partiocularly Ms. Postrel, a “happy generic holiday” so as not to offend or exclude those who might not celebrate Martin Luther King Day….

OK, nice little snippy comment. Feel better now?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. Do you feel better also? Or do only other people’s snippy comments count as snippy comments?

Ooh, I’m feeling snippy, too! [Insert snippy comment here.]
And, thanks. I feel better now as well.
