That's Mr. Kim, to you. Koreans keep their family names first. The L/R thing is real, though...we have only one consonant for both sounds and those sounds are dependent on their placement with other consonants. It is a scientifically designed language with few aberrations, not like your mongrel English.

The Japanese and Korean languages are related, but I don't know if Korean distinguishes the r and the l sounds. I do know that Kim Jong Il talks that way in the movie, though.

The McGrath story says WT said AQ claimed credit for "last month's blackout", presumably the Midwest blackout. AFAIK, it was the Abu Hafs al Masri Brigade which may or may not be associated with AQ. Although, whether they really claimed credit or someone said they did would need to be researched.

As far as "ronery" is concerned, isn't the l/r confusion mainly a Japanese thing? I haven't noticed Chinese or Koreans confusing l/r but I might not have been paying too much attention.

Actually, David Kay confirmed some of that story a while later: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/01/25/wirq25.xml&sSheet=/news/2004/01/25/ixnewstop.html

The story came back during the NYTrogate story with speculation that the missing HE from AlQaQaa was in the trucks instead of WMD.

So I take the WTrib with a grain of salt, sure, but I do that with the MSM as well.

Trouble is, "they" (he) have (has) a history of breaking all sorts of stories, most of which, like the one you mentioned, don't seem to go anywhere. Sure, World Tribune has an editor. So does every other blog, including damnum absque injuria.

Dude, World Trib rocks. I read them every day. They've got Bill Gertz of the Washington Times doing special pieces for them, and they were the first to break the "WMD convoy to Syria" story in 2003.

I've got them bookmarked as "media" and not "blog". They've got actual editors & such.
