Dog Trainer reader in exile Louis J. Ganim argues that the First Amendment is more important than the Sixth Amendment because the First Amendment came first. By that reasoning, the drafters of the Bill of Rights must have thought arcane rules of Congressional apportionment (the original First Amendment) and a ban on Congresmen raising their own pay (the original Second, finally ratified in 1992 as the 27th) were waaaaaaaayyyyyy more important than such petty things as free speech. [OK, maybe today's President Congress, and Supreme "Court" think that way, but does anyone really believe the Founding Fathers did?]
