Didn’t Mitchell have tenure? Says he’s been teaching at CU for 20 yrs.

It said his ‘contract wouldn’t be renewed’. That to me doesn’t sound like tenure.

Sounds unfair, but many academics are on year to year contracts. Supposedly, after 7 years one is automatically tenured, but persons below the rank of Associate Professor are excluded from that policy. Pretty soon there will be no ntnure, and professors will be “let go” at the whim of any political hack.

The adjunct faculty are some of most abused people in academics. Here at GW they are banding together and unionizing to try to gain some more rights.
