Inquiring Minds Want to Know
Seeing as the judge appears to be in no great hurry to rule on the legality of Terri Schiavo’s 3-day-old starvation, what say the Bush Administration exert those plenary powers the liberals claim he has and declare her an enemy combatant? I don’t envy that lot, but I’m pretty sure we’re not allowed to deny those guys food or water.

What liberals say he can declare US citizens enemy combatants?

I don’t know any liberals who think it’s OK to declare U.S. citizens enemy combatants, but I know plenty who claim that’s what the Bush Adminsitration is doing with impunity.

“know plenty who claim that’s what the Bush Adminsitration is doing with impunity.”
Well they’re certainly not getting punished for it. Thats for sure.

Looks like you just answered your own question.

“Looks like you just answered your own question.”
I think you misunderstand something. If the president can’t do somthing, its not the same as saying he will be punished for doing it. It just means he won’t be able to do it.
Maybe you meant something other than impunity. Maybe you meant ‘without oversight’ or ’subject to no review.’ In that case it seems like you’re being rather thick-skulled. People say he has done that, and that he claims to be able to do that, but they don’t want him to do that.
So liberals certianly don’t claim he has the plenary powers to do this. Thats the entire basis of their argument: that he is doing something he doesn’t have the power to do.
Has this answered my own question?
