Michael Crook Lives Up to Name, Fakes Own Murder
Michael Crook’s disgusting “forsake the troops” site, which I previously blogged about here, now alleges Crook was murdered today by two soldiers. Lovely. Thanks to commenters Airman Eric X and Peter1968 for the tips.
UPDATE: Some commenters think this too is a stunt, as it appears not to have been run in any Syracuse media. We’ll see.
UPDATE x2: On Tuesday, 5/17/05 at 10:40 a.m. PDT, I put in a call to Crook’s media representative at (315) 295-2602 asking for details about the location of the alleged murder, the hospital, and which police department had been involved. We’ll see if they call back with any real information. I also left a message for Lieutenant Joe Cecil (sp.?) of the Syracuse Police Department asking if he knew anything about the alleged incident. Meanwhile, feel free to call the inquiry number yourself, send an email to gloatingbastards@forsakemichaelcrook.com condolences@michaelcrook.com, or check his forum for any corroborating details. I can’t do that myself, as my prior comments and/or blog posts got me on his sh’list a long time ago.
UPDATE x3: The commenters were right, this was a hoax. A mere four minutes after I left the above message for Lieutenant Cecil, he returned my call advising me his office had been flooded with media inquiries about Mr. Crook’s alleged murder. He assured me none had occurred, and that if such a murder had occurred anywhere near Syracuse, his department would have known about it. In the end, Michael Crook is an even bigger scumbag than we thought he was.

UPDATE x5: Unfortunately, the scumbag just resurrected himself. It’s now official: Michael Crook is not dead, just very, very sick.
UPDATE x6: Now the idiot is gloating over the fact that not everyone knew he was lying from the git-go. He also lies and claims the folks at DU were happy to see him dead, when in fact they were only happy to have a temporary excuse to bash the military. He also alleges that I am two or more people, resurrects his idiotic anti-troop site, and generally acts as though he thinks all publicity is good publicity. We’ll just see about that, won’t we?

Nice work. Thank you. Has this guy committed a crime or a tort? Is anything being done to him, like having pictures of him defecating on a Koran being handed out in Peshawar? Defamation of the military isn’t really a tort these days, it’s more of an industry.

Faking your own death and blaming it on 2 people is a crime of some sort right? he should at least be charged with impeding police procedure or something of the sort because the police department has had to handle all of the inquiries.

Well…, I first heard about all this on EHOWA.com and anybody who is anybody KNOWS what bad practice it is to mess with Ernie. I was just trying to do some research and figure out what I thought, in light of the obvious freedom of speech and press issues. Thanks for the heads up. Faking one’s own death is not necessarially a crime, making a false report is. I’ve never heard of someone being charged with anything for spreading a bulls, um, a fake story unless they reported that fake story to the authorities.

The language in the Oregon statute is “…or is transmitted to a police, fire or public…..(911) agency.” So if someone else picked it up and legitimately passed it on, the crime would track back to whoever intended to create the hoax in the first place.
Had the idiot done it in OR, he would have gotten a C-misdemeanor ticket.

I just heard about the basketcase when he did a live interview on Hannity on Foxnews tonight…Oh my God! And both Hannity and Colmes destoyed this guy. Being a military officer myself, I just had to learn more about this nut…and the icing on the cake was his faked murder! Due to my oath, I do fight for American’s right to free speech, no matter how ungrateful they are. I’ll leave this in God’s hands. I shouldn’t judge him, but this guy is such a nut that not even Satan himself would have Mr. Michael Crook near him! God bless freedom! God bless the First Amendment! This guy is a perfect example of what happens when you shake a baby too hard. Nothing but baby batter up there, if you know what I mean. I have been a U.S. Marine for 7 years now, and while freaks like this guy piss me off, it sure makes my day to know that there are plenty more out there like me, that would willingly bash this guys teeth in for free :)

Crook is a sad little man who lives to see his name anywhere…Filing false reports is a crime but only if he actually filed one…it seems he only made up some more about his insignificant life so that someone…anyone (desperate plea for help…) might see and/or care about it. I only care that it’s false as I am sure there are good people waiting for donor organs in South Jersey.

Someone should just kill him, I started searching for who he is (not finding anything really just that he’s giant douche) because I was told he left some nasty comments or something on an article about a couple high school kids who recently crashed and 2 died in my area. I was trying to find what he wrote but so far no luck, although everything I’m reading about him makes me just say that someone should just kill him, if he wants to be dead (since he faked his own death) then why not oblige…
