Jury, what is this jury you speak of? Some kind of legal formality? Surely they just rubber stamp the prosecutors? No?!

I’d be surprised if the prosectors said he was not guilty. I mean, rather a waste of time and money, then, no?

I don’t blame them for being confident. I expected either a quick not guilty verdict or a longer time to decide which charges to hold him guilty on and which not guilty.
I think if he was going to be cleared it would have happened already.
I think he is guilty, but the defense did a great job of painting the victims as greedy opportunists, which the mother obviously was. In my mind she sold her son’s welfare for Jackson’s cash and gifts. I believe the child, though and Jackson certainly presents himself as an arrogant child abuser.

This is a stupid story. Nothing in it suggests they think they’ve won. They are just glad it’s over and don’t think it went horribly.
My wife and I have a tradition that we go out to eat when either of us finishes a trial. They’re pretty stressful.

Fair enough, but if they’re really just celebrating that it’s over, why didn’t they do it a week ago? Or is there something to Mikem’s theory that if he were going to walk it would have happened already?
