James, if you had bothered to read the 9-11 report, you'd know that while an operational relationship between Hussein and bin Laden probably never materialized (and almost certainly didn't with respect to 9-11 attacks themselves), it wasn't for a lack of trying on Hussein's part. Quite the opposite: a few years before the attacks, when bin Laden's relations with the Taliban were a bit strained, Hussein offered bin Laden an opportunity to relocate to Iraq. It was bin Laden, not Hussein, who ultimately turned down the offer.

As to your more general claim that Saddam Hussein never harbored or protected religious terrorists, WTF do you call Abu Nidal and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi?! And what about the post-9/11 attacks Hussein's own government plotted against us, which Putin's Russia (hardly a big fan of Operation Iraqi Freedom) also corroborated and shared with us? To call that common-sense observation a "lie" requires an Ivins-esque definition of of the word. Apparently, to you moonbats, a "lie" is a statement that either (1) isn't true, or (2) you would really, really, really like not to be true. The rest of us go by definition 1.

Last and least, the only thing worse than your ideas is your spelling and grammar of your ideas, which suggests that World History isn't the only class you slept through. In a relatively short comment, consisting of only nine sentences (or nine thingies starting with capital letters and ending with periods, which I presume were intended to be sentences), I identified <del datetime="2005-07-14T14:18:10+00:00">14</del> 13 clear spelling and/or grammar errors, plus 2 other borderline examples. <del datetime="2005-07-14T14:18:10+00:00">My favorite was your reference to a "bold-face" lie, which I presume was intended to be a reference to a bald-faced lie, unless you are objecting to the fact that someone in the Bush Administration (note capitalization) typed a memorandum in bold face. Just to be a mensch, here's a "bold-face lie" of my own:</del>

<del>Gee, James, that was a really brilliant and insightful comment you just left.</del>

<del>Got the difference? Actually, I can't blame you if it didn't, as that bold-face lie was also a bald-faced lie.</del> [False arrest - both phrases are equally correct.] I do hope you'll comment again, however, and that's the bald-faced truth. Nothing makes my point about confused, slobbering semi-literate moonbats better than having a real live moonbat show up every now and then to show off how confused, slobbering and semi-literate moonbats really are.

Are you kiding me? First off, She still lives in Texas. So you kind of messed up on that whole banishment thing. Second, while the bush administration did not say Hussein was flying one of the planes, they did say that he has ties to Bin Laden. They said that he harbors and protects religous terrorist. Thats an out and out lie. Hussein ran a secularist dictatorship and would not allow religion of any kind to have power in his country. So yes, one of the reason bush gave to going to war was he "Harbors and aides terrorism." a Bold face LIE.

Molly doesn't make honest mistakes. Everything she writes is calcuated. That's why we banished her from Texas. :-)
