You know, much as I dislike breed bigotry, I would be in favor of a law that requires people to have some minimal training before they are allowed to own a large, aggressive dog in a populated area. I don’t think this is any different from requiring people to have some training before they are allowed to carry a gun or drive a car.

If SF were really concerned about dangerous dogs and guns, they would take a licensing approach. The fact that they jump on banning so quickly shows that this is really not about safety, it’s about fears and prejudices.

Or so says the article. In fact, it will concetrate such ownership in the hands of irresponsible owners. Much like gun bans.
