May Day
Michelle Malkin has the latest on the day to hate the Yankees. Good thing I live south of the Mason-Dixon line, else they might hate me, too. Also worth noting are some of the protest signs displayed on the flyer:
- RAISE WORKERS [sic] WAGES
- STOP LAYOFS [sic] AND UNION BUSTING
- Health Care is a Right
- Housing is a Right
Apparently, these guys didn’t get the memo about illegal immigrants being good for society because they don’t demand higher wages, object to being laid “of” or expect taxpayers to provide them with free housing, free health care, and Lord knows what else.

“For me, the protest serves a double purpose: I get to support the immigrants and I also get to express my slightly anti-Yankee sentiments,” said Mexico City cafe owner Joaquin Garcia Nava.
As in the United States, the Roman Catholic Church is adding legitimacy, voice and presence to the movement. And the bishops of the Mexican border cities of Ciudad Juarez, Tijuana, Mexicali, Nogales, Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, and Piedras Negras have all endorsed the May 1 action. ”
Maybe Mr. Nava and the good bishops should focus their concern on the plight of the poor and oppressed within Mexico. These people are so burdened by a corrupt and horrific leaders that they risk life and limb crossing the desert into the US.
It would be great if Vicente Fox and his predecessors were to stand trial in International Court for ‘crimes against humanity.’
