If Denny's can be sued for racial discrimination because of a twenty minute wait for the meal to be brought to the table, and an indisputably capable member of the Washington, D.C. mayor's staff can be driven out of his job for calling his department's budget "niggardly" then Mr. Vento was indeed "asking for a civil rights suit". BTW: I have always thought the 13th Amendment was a defense to these things. From personal experience, short-order restaurant owners are a hidebound bunch.
