Mr. Sturm! I am glad to see that you are still blogging... the same goes for xrlq. (Well... ;-)

I have been out of the Blogosphere for awhile... but having small break from work (even if it was the first week of classes), has provided a window of opportunity. It is upsetting to see that so many weblogs and site are now either completely gone, or have changed their formats, and removed old posts.

I like things that don't change.

I was actually in Virginia, for the November 2000 elections... We were thrilled when Sen. Robb was finallly ousted. I wish though, that it had been by Lt. Col. Ollie North in the previous election, who is even more conservative than Sen. Allen.

Incidentally, I just remembered a military classmate of mine mentioning (Fall 2003 semester) that Lt. Col. North was a boxing partner of Col. James Webb. Both of these war heroes have served our country with distinction, in the Reagan administration, before that, and up to the present day as well.

It is too bad that two excellent Republican leaders [one running as a Democrat] are pitted against each other. If only more leaders of my party had joined Senator Chuck Hagel, Colonel James Webb, and other conservative and military leaders in opposing this war, so many of the problems plaguing our party - and more importantly, plaguing our country - could have been averted.
