Understatement of the Day
Uncly-Wuncly describes Missouri Senator-elect Claire McCaskill, who earned an F rating from the NRA, as “not that pro-gun.” No shit.
As an aside, I hate Firefox’s spell checker. What English dictionary worth its salt does not recognize the words “uncly” and “wuncly?”

Yeah, I probably need to revisit Claire.

It beats the heck out of Internet Explorer’s spellcheck. But I suspect the Googlebar checker misses those common words, too.

I find those wiggly red lines obnoxious.

My fifteen-year old godson has expressed an interest in guns. It seems that one of his schoolmates just got a “Kar”. I presume it’s a ‘98 Mauser. I told him I would buy a rifle for him if I had his parents’ permission and he took a gun safety course. (His father is a veteran as well.) My thought is a repeating bolt action .22LR but I can see where he can grow into a decent quality semi-auto and a lever action has a special romance for some people. Your thoughts?

I think bolt or lever action makes more sense as a starter gun. I’m partial toward bolt action, but that’s just me.

Thank you. Me too. And since you did not yell at me for being off-topic, take a look at .

Sorry. Trying link to eye candy one more time.

Maybe it’s a Kahr (a compact handgun). I think that bolts, levers or single shots are better first guns. There’s not urge to go for speed and they focus on the essentials.
Crickets and Handi Rifles are both available at walmart:

[...] Xrlq takes me to task for calling Missouri Senator-elect Claire McCaskill “not that pro-gun”, noting her F from the NRA. Fine, she’s anti-gun. So anti-gun that she touted the endorsement of an anti-gun group that fakes being pro-gun to deceive people. See here. [...]

Coincidentaly, My left nut is named “uncly” and my right nut “wuncly”.

You can disable the spell-check feature through “Tools -> Options…”, and then unmarking the box “Check My Spelling as I type” under “Advanced -> General”.
Claire sucks, of course, but a gun-control dem should be no surprise.
