It seems that one of his schoolmates just got a "Kar". I presume it's a '98 Mauser. I told him I would buy a rifle for him if I had his parents' permission and he took a gun safety course. (His father is a veteran as well.) My thought is a repeating bolt action .22LR but I can see where he can grow into a decent quality semi-auto and a lever action has a special romance for some people. Your thoughts?
