I remember one guy who decided to show the class how sodium reacted with water by dropping about 2 ounces of it into a (thankfully unpopulated) aquarium. If so, he or she should probably be fired too. Any teacher worth a salt knows that you are taking a risk with a sub. Some of them are just plain nuts! She said it was great in the old days, all the students had thier own razors, there was blood flying and shooting everywhere, she had lots of fun smearing shoe polish around the lenses of all the microscopes. (Okay, so she was a little strange. I'm sure she would get along fine here.)
