Abortion Extortion
Today’s Scum of the Day award goes to the anonymous jerks who run Help My Baby Live, Please, threatening to abort their allegedly existent fetus if no one gives them $50,000. The only question is which kind of scum they are. Possible options:
- They really are two soulless jerks who are shallow enough to base their decision to abort or not abort a perfectly healthy kid on crass economics. Cf. Amy Richards in drag, if you will.
- He/she/it is some anti-abortion nut trying to make pro-abortionists look like Amy Richards scum. This is Snopes’s take. Trouble is, one would think any real anti-abortionist would know better than to use the phrase “pro-life” while pretending to be a pro-abortionist.
- He/she/it is some pro-abortion nut, trying to make anti-abortionists look like scum who set up web sites intended to defame pro-abortionists.
- He/she/it has no political agenda or friends of the opposite sex, and is highly unlikely ever to reproduce, but would be delighted to pocket whatever money you are willing to send his/her/its way.
