My Name Is Larry
I’m not sure what it is, but something about Larry Craig’s vehement denial just doesn’t ring true.
For eight months leading up to June 11th my family and I had been relentlessly and viciously harassed by the Idaho Statesman. If you saw the article today, you know why. Let me be clear: I am not gay. I never have been gay. Neither have any of the blokes I done in public bathrooms, either, not a one. That pervert cop who busted me, now that’s another story. That guy is definitely gay. I know he’s gay ‘cuz his dick tastes like shit. But none of the other guys I met in bathroom stalls are gay, so why don’t you drop this non-story and leave me and what’s left of my political career… um, I mean, my family, yeah, that’s the ticket … alone? Dammit.
More here, here, here, here, here, here and too many other places to track.

What doesn’t ring true about it?

Dunno. Can’t put a finger on it, but something just doesn’t sit right.

It was a serious question, X. “Gay”, according to PC dogma refers to a man who was born with a different psychology so that he is not sexually attracted to women and is sexually attracted to men. And you seem to support the PC dogma in this case. So my question is, just because some guy gets off on this sort of thing, how does that prove that he was born with a different psychology so that he is attracted to men and not women? Surely you aren’t suggesting that there are only gays and straights with no other possibilities?

I’m not getting into the endless debate over whether people are born gay or become that way on their own. I neither know nor care, nor does it have any bearing on this post. Normal, straight hetero males don’t get off on doing sexual stuff with other dudes. Craig does. Therefore, he’s gay. How he got that way doesn’t interest me in the least. Nor would his gayness, for that matter, if he’d just quit lying and being such a dick about it.

OK, so you are defining “gay” to mean any man that gets off with other guys, regardless of how he feels about women, livestock, hardware, or assorted Freudian vegetables. I’m presume that is not how Craig is defining it. He is probably using the more common PC definition, where if you like women then you are not gay.
