Whoopi’s Deep Thoughts on the Deep South
I’m torn as to which part of Whoopi’s trifecta of retarded is the dumbest. Which of the following three implications do you find the most idiotic?
- Newport News, Virginia is part of the Deep South.
- Dog fighting is generally accepted behavior in the Deep South, the Shallow South, or whatever the hell region of the country Whoopi Cushion had in mind when she uttered that goofy statement.
- The fact that Whoopi and Michael both have similar levels of pigmentation played absolutely no role in her defense of the guy.

Those are tough choices to pick from, but I’ll go with number 3.
There is a choice number 4 that I’d add. What makes a New York born and raised moron like her an expert on the south?

I think you are a little to hard on Whoopie. I certainly thought Newport Va. was the deep south growing up in NY. Worst of all her theory is much like Michael Barones who is no dolt:

Just because someone from NY thinks that Newport News is Deep South don’t make it so. Anyway, Whoopie is saying that he probably didn’t realize how repulsive dogfighting is to the rest of the country, since it is common and acceptable down here in redneck country. That is a crock. It isn’t common, and it isn’t accepted by the vast majority of southerners. He knew it was illegal, or he wouldn’t have been trying to conceal his involvement in it. Maybe it says something about the prejudices of people from NY that they actually think that people from the south are that barbaric.

JJV: Well, sorta, but then again, Barone’s version has Whoopi off by a few centuries. Further, I’m not sure I buy the group retardation defense. If everyone in NY thinks Virginia is part of the deep south, then all that proves is that everyone in NY is retarded. It doesn’t make Whoopi any less so.

If Ms. Goldberg wants to talk about cultures we could talk about civilized cultures which domesticated and learned to value animals and about primitive hunter-gatherer cultures which did not. Of course, that would send me to jail in several European countries and lead to allegations of racism here.

I quit watching when Rosie came on I had hopes for Whoopi until she tried to shut Elizabeth up, this is not acceptable in my eyes, Elizabeth is the only sane one on the show, they should had dropped Joy instead of Star, I loved Star and so sorry they dumped her.
Why can’t Barbara pick someone better than she is doing.
I will watch for awhile but another put down of Elizabeth I am not going there,[as if they care]
