		<description>I happen to build elevators for a living, and I believe that the issue is a faulty &quot;P.I.&quot; (Position Indicator) control board (or system, they are sometimes modular &quot;Add on&quot; units). Most likely the &quot;EZ&quot; that you are seeing is a fault code that can be diagnosed by an elevator technician, or the device cannot properly process the information being sent to it from the controller so it sets a default display. 

The solution is to complain to the building owner that it is not displaying properly, and they should call their contracted elevator service company to address the issue. If they don&#039;t have one, complain until they get one. 

An elevator is the World&#039;s safest means of getting from point &quot;A&quot; to point &quot;B&quot; (yes it&#039;s safer than walking on your own two feet)... Provided that it&#039;s properly maintained.
