Bad Idea of the Day
Full disclosure: I work for an insurance company that has little choice but to pay for this bad idea, and pass the cost of this bad idea along to you. If that turns the bad idea into a good idea in your book, so be it.

No kidding. Double taxation shakedown. Btw, as the article notes, these are primarily driven by vendors putting these ideas in the heads of local municipality leaders and then taking a hefty cut of the proceeds (10% is probably on the low end). All at the expense of policyholders everywhere. Fortunately, the larger p/c industry is pushing back hard.

Sounds like they need to do something about safety on their roads, if cleaning up wreckage of people and property is a drain on their resources.
I sure as hell don’t want them to have another financial incentive to lower safety (like red light cameras have already done).
