I agree, dwelling too much on the issue of significant legislation may not be a wise strategy. McCain’s name appears on several other significant bills, too, none of them good from a Republican perspective (or mine). But Palin’s point wasn’t just that Obama had not authored any major laws or reforms, but that he had authored two memoirs anyway. That’s just a weeeeee bit pretentious, dontcha think?

Har har, but the point remains that if the bipartisan legislation Obama co-sponsored can’t be considered a “significant” reform or “significant” legislation, then pretty much no legislation since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 could be. What “significant” legislation has McCain been responsible for lately? Bring up McCain-Feingold, that would be a great idea to energize the base!

Whoever said that delivering frilly speeches was a bad thing? Certainly not I. The problem with Obama isn’t that he delivers frilly speeches, it’s that aside from pushing a totally crappy agenda, that’s all he does.

Wait, a couple of weeks ago, wasn't a frilly speech that lacks substance a bad thing? I'm confused... And of course, it doesn't matter that it was mostly bullshit -- it only matters that it was bullshit that Republicans want to hear. Meanwhile, I highly recommend this Daily Show video. Stewart's right: what does she know?
