Bilwick1: Sullivan and his boyfriend got a Massachusetts wedding and then expected his political pals to throw rice on his ah, plumbing and flick the bells appendant thereunto. When this did not happen (there was near-universal silence), he stuck out his little lower lip and fell into a snit. He has yet to rise to the surface, and is not likely to.

Can anyone explain Sullivan to me? I just don't get him. I understand his pique when Bush wouldn't support Gay marriage; Sully then supported Kerry, who, as I recall, wouldn't come out in favor of Gay marriage and may have even said he was against it. At the time Sullivan was making the case that he was still a conservative but the Republicans under Bush had abandoned conservatism. Why that would lead one to support the left-wing Kerry is beyond me, but I cut him some slack becuase I don't like Bush all that much.

Now, however, what's Sully's rationale? Bush isn't running for president, and while one can debate how much of a true conservative McCain is, he would seem much closer to one than Obama. (I'm talking the real Obama, the radical leftist, not the new, sails-trimmed, faux- centrist Obama.) Has Sullivan abandoned his alleged support of the free market, too? Please, someone explain.

After reading the first quote it occurred to me that it's a sort of ink blot test. The writing is so confused you could get any sort of meaning out of it. But, unless you're a hardcore "Kill Kikes for God" type in the first place, I don't see how it encourages full blown antisemitic behavior.

Where Governor Palin agreeing with it ipso facto because she heard it once. If that's the case, then that would make me a antisemitic, creationist, Satanist, British Israelite, Democratic, Republican, Islamic, Bolshevist Buddhist with tendencies towards Freethought Scientology because I've heard or read stuff form, on, or about them.

Hell, if just reading a write up of the D&D orc god Gruumsh means you agree with what it says and makes you a worshipper of ol' One Eye, the world could be in for a big surprise one day.

"Then our places shall be the waste places. The barren scrub and the arid desert. Our homes shall be where the green grass does not grow, and the farmer's fields do not yield. Our water courses shall be dry and dusty, when they are not raging torrents that sweep the fools away. We shall eat of the poison root and drink of bitter waters. Our lives shall be ones of privation and woe, and we shall grow fat upon this and feast upon you who dwell in softer lands." (Which is sort of how I remember it. And welcome to the Church of Gruumsh. :) )

Well, I did google it and found the Instpdt. entry and the Frank J. thing. Given Xrlqly's disagreement with the G.R. I guess it just sounded to me like a more serious insult than it was.

Xrlq knows I've a top-heavy tendency to fall straight into the sarchasm. Alas it doesn't improve as I age.

Anwyn??? Please tell me you're kidding!

Years ago -- back when the series of tubes was as hamster-powered as Ted Stevens' brain -- Frank J. of IMAO (as I recall) engaged in a nascent blog feud with Instapundit, in which was alleged that Prof. Reynolds puts puppies in blenders for fun.

Hence a longstanding "puppy smoothie" meme you may also have seen.

I look forward to learning the above explanation was entirely unnecessary.
