Two Simple Questions

Does anyone still believe a word that FactCheck.org says? And if so, why on earth?

UPDATE: PGP has more.

UPDATE x2: Patterico fact-checks FactCheck.

  1. Patterico’s Pontifications » Unmitigated Garbage from FactCheck.org on Obama’s Second Amendment Record Says:

[...] Xrlq points us to this ridiculous FactCheck.org piece on Obama and gun rights. I am by now completely disenchanted with FactCheck.org and virtually every other “fact checking” site out there, and this piece does nothing to dispel my depression. [...]

  2. Milhouse Says:

Whenever you mention this organisation, please give its full name: Annenberg Political Fact Check. Yes, the same Annenberg as in the Annenberg Challenge, whose chairman was by the sheerest coincidence one Barack Obama. In most elections APFC is generally reliable — at least as reliable as Snopes, anyway — but in this election one simply can’t ignore the fact that one of the candidates is “one of their own”.

  3. Xrlq Says:

“At least as reliable as Snopes” ain’t sayin’ much. The full name can be useful (doesn’t Bill Ayers have an Annenberg connection, too?) but “hack check” is much shorter. Then again, so is “Annenberg Political,” which pretty well sums up what they’re about this year.
