Another Fake Hate Crime?

Filed under:   by Xrlq @ 9:59 pm

At the risk of committing an own-goal, I can’t help but wondering why anyone would carve a backward-B in anyone else’s face. Isn’t a backward letter what happens by default when one tries to carve something on one’s own face?

UPDATE: Yup, it was a hoax all right. Thanks a heap, toots. With volunteers like you, who needs opponents?

UPDATE x2: Kudos to Michelle Malkin for nailing it from the start. And shame on Matt Drudge and all others who initially reported the story as though the allegations were anything but, well, allegations.

Could be upside down, I guess.

Based on the totality of the circumstances (lack of evidence, backwardness of carving, carving of a symbol) I’d have to say there’s a 95% chance, at least, that it’s fake.

Any time spent hyping this is worse than wasted because this will blow up in our faces.

More than that, it’s not carved. Those are not “knife cuts” by any stretch. They are superficial scratches that did not even break the skin. That was one gentle and considerate mugger.

Wait! Can’t we take a page from the “Duke 88” handbook and explain that while this attack may not have happened, women today are being attacked every day and having their faces mutilated? There is a larger truth that the White patriarchal society is trying to deny by keeping women down, disfiguring them mentally, emotionally and physically.

    Fight the power!
