Avira is complaining about the executable being compressed with a common packer (ab)used by trojans. I'd recommend running upx -d on it first, and then rescanning.

It was installed from the original CD, then I logged on to their site to download the latest version, but got the same error both times. I noticed the same pattern when Googling myself; it seemed like if it's a trojan, you must be using AntiVir. Meaning that either AntiVir is brilliantly catching something everyone else seems to miss, or not to brilliantly catching something they should miss.

Every Google hit I found with that trojan's name seems to have AntiVir beside it. Maybe a virus definition problem? Is your software paid, installed from original CD, or downloaded from the original author/company's site? Something you got a copy of a copy from a friend, or fell off a truck?

(Too many unanswered questions, sorry. No insinuation, but no assumption.)

Suggestion: Install free versions of AVG and Avast, or alternatively use TrendMicro's online scanner. Or all of the above, recommended. :) If nothing else hits on it, then Antivir is probably the culprit.

ben´s last blog post..Aww, crap, darn it all to heck
