    I Googled “anal sheikh”. (Admit it, if you did, too.)

    It turns out she’s a solicitor — a kind of lawyer who cannot appear in most courts in England but must, instead, “instruct” a barrister. I am not making this up, the solicitor sends the barrister “briefs”.

    I stopped Googling at that point because my imagination will likely be more entertaining than Google.

    I’m not even sure whether I’m a lawyer or a loyer, let alone barrister vs. solicitor. I’ve never barristed a case, but I have yet to be busted for solicitation, either.

    One thing I do know, though: as wrong as it is for men to pay women for sex, expecting them to pay you is 100 times wronger. Or maybe 100 times cooler, YMMV. Whatever it is, it’s not the same.

    On 25th June 2009, in the High Court in London, Mr Justice Simon awarded summary judgment in favour of Mr Beaumont, and dismissed all allegations against him. He made a costs order in favour of Mr Beaumont. He made an interim award of costs in the sum of £ 50,000. He decided that several of Miss Sheikh’s applications were “totally without merit.” On 5th May 2009, Miss Sheikh was struck off the roll of solicitors by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
