Outing Anonybloggers
Ed Morrissey asks when it is OK to out anonymous or pseudonymous bloggers. Missing from the poll question is the answer I consider correct: when the blogger’s identity is so closely tied to the issue at hand that the news value of his name outweighs the harrassing effect of identifying the individual in question. Which, I might add, is very rarely the case.
