What’s the Bacon-Eating Age in Georgia?

Filed under:   by Xrlq @ 7:22 pm

Stopped for a bite during a layover at ATL, and ordered a Sweetwater and a cheeseburger. The waitress asked me if I wanted bacon or onions on the cheeseburger and I said yes, I’d like bacon on it. Her response? “Then I’ll need to see your ID.”

    Wha-ha-hat?

    Did you ask her why?

    And what’s a Sweetwater?

  2. Xrlq Says:

Didn’t ask why, just smiled and handed her my ID. Sweetwater is a local beer. Needed something to wash down all that adult bacon, after all.

That may be a preview of Obamacare. If you are above a certain age, because of heart issues, you may be denied bacon as a health hazard.

Actually, many locales around the Atlanta area insist on carding you, even if you are a graybeard (like me). I have learned to just do it without comment and roll my eyes. Sometimes clerks will say “Sorry, we have to.”

Oh. The beer. She just phrased poorly. Got it.

    She was flirting with you.

Right. I can see it for the beer, but not the bacon. Just poorly asked. Funny anyway.
