Twitter is Evil

The Bloggess (h/t: Robb Alllen) has the proof. Meanwhile, I’d like a little grammatical help from you, the reader. Which of the following is the most appropriate past tense for tweet?

  1. twate
  2. twote
  3. tweeten
  4. twitten
  5. tweetered
  6. [Censored]
  7. Other (specify)

    #3 “tweeten” is verb present tense

    #7 “tweeted” would be past tense

    She will tweet, she tweets or she is tweeting, she tweeted. The others I’ve only seen in quizzes. Not being a twitterer, though, I could be wrong. Why are they twitterers rather than twits?
