I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that a significant percentage of my readers care as little as I do for Ana Marie “Heh, heh, she said…” Cox, who is also known as the Wonkette. If you read her site on a regular basis, then you already know what I’m about to say, and need read no further. If you don’t, this post will inform you that Ms. Wonk has recently left Wonkville for Boston, raising the average IQ of both cities. While she’s away, the now-inaptly named Wonkette web site will in fact be a Wonkette-free zone, with fellow Bearflagger BoiFromTroy holding down the fort. You may actually want to read that site, for once. Check it out.

Chris Cross, a frequent commenter and the proprietor of Legal XXX, has joined the Bear Flag League. It’s about friggin’ time. Um … I mean … welcome!

I’m taking the rest of the day off. Enjoy your Fourth of July, but don’t go consuming a fifth on the Fourth if you plan to go forth on the Fifth.

UPDATE: Today is also the one-year anniversary of the founding of the Bear Flag League. I can’t believe I forgot my own anniversary.

Howard Owens has called it quits. Hopefully his blog won’t stay dead as long as Rachel’s did.

UPDATE: Any resemblance between the heading of this post and my own blog earlier today is purely coincidental.

I met Patterico, Baldilocks, Michael Williams, Little Miss Attila, Breaker, Ith, Nin,
BoiFromTroy and Justin Levine of Calblog and Socallawblog for brunch today at the Warehouse in Pattericoville Marina Del Rey. Also present were Maddy and Justene, both of whom I’d met on two prior occasions. Other previously Xrlnq’ed Bearflaggers include The Irish Lass, whom I met at the GOP convention a few weeks back, Zacharias of Below Street Level, who also briefly attended the convention, Stefan Sharkansky, who Mrs. Xrlq and I met a year ago in Frisco, and Howard Owens, who covered my run for California State Ass. in 1992.
